The Oklahoma Biofuels Conference called GROW brings national energy experts to our state for a two-day conversation about Oklahoma's biofuel industry. The Secretary of Energy for the State of Oklahoma hired Anglin Public Relations to bring together farmers, researchers and those who work in fuel refining, transportation and marketing to look forward and position our state as a leader in creating a renewable, plant-based transportation fuel.
Goals:
Generate attendance of at least 400 among people with vested interest in the growth of the biofuels industry and to position Oklahoma with federal agencies, petroleum industry, science laboratories, policymakers, lawmakers and others as a leader in biofuels research and development.
Actions and outcomes:
Attendance surpassed expectations by more than 50%. Each year, attendance at the conference represents approximately 15 states, with attendance from all of the targeted industries.
Anglin Public Relations worked with the media to spread the word about the conference. Over three years, we’ve generated over 1,000 news stories in print, television, radio, websites and blogs about the conference. The value or commercial equivalency of these stories is over $1M.
The conversation spread. Following the conference, thousands of stories mention biofuels in Oklahoma without being directly related to the conference. The term biofuel was hardly used in Oklahoma media prior to the conference. Hits to the conference website
